for a week of silence, i made it up to u

busy week it was..very much occupied than ever before. iftar..iftar..iftar! don't get me wrong, i have no complaint whatsoever. orang berbudi, kita berbahasa..... ;)

• the em*bas*sy hosted another iftar for another group of people at the re/siden/ce, of course the p-e-r-w-a-k-i-l-a-n ladies turun padang.

• then there are these iftar invitationSSS from his colleagues & friends all over k*h*a*r*t*o*u*m....it's been heaven of a week! hehe. meriah! selang sehari ada saja jemputan..dah serupa jemputan open house raya pulak! jadi dapur adalah sedikit kurang berasap minggu lalu ya. \o/ \o/ hari raya nanti sunyi sikit agaknya..most malaysian families from p*e*t*r*o*n*a*s will be flying home for eid. so enjoy while it lasts.

• we hosted iftar too last saturday. for husband's colleagues (mesti la colleague dia, kan? colleague aku mana ada kat sini!!) & families, and few other close friends. i cooked the meals for about 15 people. Now thisss my friends, IS a big deal to me...an amateur in the kitchen. i am all used to cook for the most of 5 people (that's for my parents, my bros and moi), once in a while that is,..yes, let me stress that again; kadang-kadang! huhuu...you know what i mean; working girl living with her parents yang ehemm-balik-rumah-semua-makanan-mak-dah-sedia! now that i'm married and living away with my husband, i only cook for 2. i COOK for my husband (wah...adalah ditekankan di situ! hehe..) jadi..memasak untuk 15 orang ni besar maknanya untuk saya. tak pernah buat, kan.... surprisingly it was not that stressful or tiring (i was fasting too) as i would expect it to be. Lepas subuh dah gigih masak kari ayam for iftar! kata orang makin lama kari ayam tu makin sedap, kan..bila semua rempah tu resap kat ayam & kuah..something like that.. lepas tu sambung tido balik! dalam tengahari, i buat daging masak hitam dan sambal kerang (these 2 seems to be a hit during iftar..licin, i pun tak sempat rasa..vangga, vangga mak uolls! ;> ) those were the main course i prepared, while husband prepared the white rice and drinks. friends came no empty handed, bless them. they brought along some dessert for us, some even brought along fried mee. There were pudding, spring roll and murtabak! we thank u all! **not even a picture was taken in the day..punya lah sibuk tuan rumah melayan tetamu ;> regret it though**
  

• iftar dah lepas...another one is coming up, our open house that is; which date we have not decide yet. i haven't think of the menu yet..tapi semesti nya kuah kacang yang i tak pernah buat tu adalah wajib, kan? rendang pes i dah habis, errk..maknanya kena buat sendiri la ni, manually?? biar duluuu....tunggu tiba hari nanti baru i risau, ok...enjoy dulu! hahaa.

• talk about enjoy..we've been enjoying iftar at few restaurants here with the guys. both chinese and indian restaurant, serving of course chinese and indian food. I super love the chicken briyani here! though the portion is too much, even for my husband. **again, no pics..the indian restaurant was nice! sigh**
  

• another iftar invi. cum akikah tomorrow from a group of msian student. the last for the weekend, as next weekend is syawal. ramadhan dah hampir tamat, tak sampai seminggu jer lagi. sayu pulak, cepat benar masa berlalu.
  

mak has been talking all about her preparations, with buying the kek lapis & biscuits. asking me how to make the cornflakes madu cos that's my easy peasy specialty every year. then there's her frustation on her baju kurung raya, not tailor made this year since her personal tailor-cum-sister in law has stopped taking the over flowing order. pak on the other hand is complaining on how tiring it is accompanying mak from one shop to another, of how choosy & fussy mak is on picking the right kurung / jubah for raya, and he's blaming me for his misery! huhuu...if only i'm not away, he said..mak will have her real partner in crime instead of dragging him from one shop to another! sabar je laa aku! i miss those two! my men at home will wear their baju melayu tailor made for them that they wore on my wedding reception. yeah, my men and their baju melayu are that easy..thank god! talk about my men, missing my 2 bros. the middle bro is earning this year, in fact he just got a new and better job after his first job of 5months. murah rezeki alhamdulillah, good for him that i insist on bringing me to the movies once i'm home for holiday; strictly 3D only! hohoho!! ;D the youngest one is on his last semester. the best is only what i wish for them.

• owh..my toy has arrived..yeayy!! sibuklaa i dok belek hari-hari, praktis balik, dah lama tak pegang, kan...how i wish they have a store with complete equipments & kits over here..i only have the basics.

• i have like 3 more books to read. i'm done with the gift by cecilia ahern. it's an easy story anyway, very predictable to me. dragged in a whole thick of a novel. if i were to buy this novel, it would've been a total regret. **sorry c.ahern fans! just my humble opinion** terima kasih buat kawan-kawan di sini yang pinjamkan novel-novel ini :) am soo looking forward to that last 2 novels. big names, great review..i know they won't let me down (i hope!)
  

• i have developed a craziness over yogurt...flavored. a surprise to myself as i can't stand it before, ever!...rasa masam la, rasa aiskrim basi laa! it has been 2 crazy weeks now, and i have to have it like every night after iftar! apakah?? yummaaayyyy!!

• i finally tried to bake my own pizza. the result is not so satisfying though :(
  

and finally................i am verrryyyyy looking forward for september to ends!! ;)

we're into the last week of ramadhan.
